Important Announcement from Big Brothers Big Sisters
The safety and security of our Matches and supporters is of utmost importance to us. In order to be proactive in light of the news of COVID-19 – or the coronavirus diseas – being present in our community, we are altering the way Bowl for Kid’s Sake 2020 will take place. This decision was made by our executive staff, in cooperation with our board of directors.
If you are a team captain who currently has a team registered for the event, you will be receiving an email from our Chief Development Officer, Kara Wood, within the next 24 hours outlining further details.
In lieu of holding a large group event, we will be issuing a voucher to each team that will be valid through the end of April 2020 that will allow each team to participate in a way and at a time that they feel comfortable with. The voucher will be good for two games of bowling, one pizza and one pitcher of soda for their team of five people. Vouchers will be mailed to each team captain and should arrive in mailboxes by mid-
week next week.
T-shirts and event day banners are still being printed, so as a participant you will still receive your t-shirt. Arrangements will be made with team captains on obtaining those shirts.
We want to take a moment to thank our sponsors Lippert Components, Donovan Hawkes’ State Farm, the Edward Lowe Foundation, SEMCO Energy, Michiana Saver, TJ21 Media Group, Allstate and Spectrum Health.
We ARE still accepting registrations through the end of day Friday, March 13th for Bowl for Kids’ Sake, as well as still accepting sponsorships. We still want to give our community a chance to support the great work our agency is doing and peer-to-peer fundraising may continue through the end of April.
If you are participating in the peer-to-peer fundraising portion of our event, drop off locations for fundraising packets are the Big Brothers Big Sisters office located on West Washington in South Bend, TJ21 Media Group on Wayne Street in South Bend and Inovateus Solar on State Line Road in South Bend, all during regular business hours. I simply ask that packets be dropped off in sealed envelope, clearly marked Bowl for Kids’ Sake
On behalf of Big Brothers Big Sisters – Southern Lake Michigan Region, we want to thank you for your support and dedication to our agency and to our mission to provide children facing adversity with strong and enduring, professionally supported one-to-one relationships that change their lives for the better, forever.
